Deep Peroneal Nerve

Description

Anatomy of the common peroneal, deep and superficial fibular nerve.[1]
  • Other Names
    • Deep Fibular Nerve
  • Anatomic Course
    • Is one of two terminal branches of the common peroneal nerve.
    • It passes into the anterior compartment of the leg.
    • Courses medially under peroneus longus muscle.
    • Then it turns and courses inferiorly on the anterior aspect of the interosseous membrane.
    • The deep peroneal nerve passes under the extensor retinaculum at the ankle.
