Purpose

Demonstration of the Joint Line Test[1]
- Evaluate integrity of the Medial Meniscus and Lateral Meniscus
Description
- The patient is either laying supine or seated with knee flexed to 90°
- Identify the joint space using the femoral condyle, tibial plateau and patellar tendon
- Start anteriorly along the joint line and work your way posterior
- This test should be performed on both the medial and lateral joint space
- Positive test is pain during palpation
