Purpose
- Evaluate dynamic motion of the Scapula as a cause of shoulder pain
Description
- Patient is seated or standing
- The examiner places one hand on the upper trapezius muscle and the other hand on inferior medial scapular border.
- Patient is instructed to elevate arm while practitioner assists scapular upward rotation.
- Positive Test
- Reduction in patient symptoms and impingement signs by 'assisting' the scapula
