Purpose
- Evaluate the cause of knee pain
Description
- The patient is asked to slowly perform several squats to 90°
- Positive Test
- Reproduction of the patients pain
Variation for Meniscal Pathology
- The patient performs a full squat with the legs externally rotated
- They then repeat that with the legs internally rotated
- Positive test
- Posteromedial joint line pain with external rotation suggests medial meniscus
- Posterolateral joint line pain with internal rotation suggests lateral meniscus
