Introduction


Interpretation

Measurement

  • Line drawn down the anterior surface of the humerus should intersect the middle third of the capitellum

Interpretation

  • During a FOOSH, radial head impacts capitellum
  • Often resulting in a supracondylar fracture with posterior displacement
  • Minor displacement can push the humeral line posterior to the capitellum

Exceptions

  • In children under 4, the anterior humeral line can pass through the anterior 1/3 of the capitellum
