Description
- Removable controlled ankle motion (CAM) walking boot that is combined with adjustable heel wedges or lifts to position the ankle in plantarflexion
- Reduces tension on the Achilles tendon during healing
- Commonly used for non-operative and post-operative Achilles tendon rupture
- Allows gradual wedge removal to progressively increase dorsiflexion
- Provides rigid immobilization of the ankle and lower leg
- Facilitates protected weight-bearing when clinically appropriate
- Often includes a rocker-bottom sole to assist with gait
- Secured with adjustable straps for customizable fit
- May include pneumatic air bladders for swelling control
