Gross Anatomy

• Fibrous bands that are situated on both sides of the Interphalangeal Joints of the Toes
• Extend from the lateral and medial sides of the head of the proximal phalanx to the base of the distal phalanx
• Additional fibers, also called the accessory collateral ligaments, insert into the plantar ligament
