Description
- Mobility aid designed to offload weight from one or both lower extremities
- Transfers body weight through the upper extremities and shoulder girdle
- Commonly constructed of lightweight aluminum or wood
- Adjustable height to ensure proper axillary or forearm fit
- Hand grips positioned to allow ~20–30° elbow flexion
- Rubber tips provide ground traction and stability
- Available in axillary (underarm) and forearm (elbow cuff) designs
- Used for non-weight bearing, toe-touch, partial, or protected weight bearing ambulation
