General
- Narrow fibrous band, runs across the volar surfaces of the heads of the 2-5 metacarpals
- Connects the palmar surface of the metacarpophalangeal joints providing stability[5]
- Does not include the thumb
- Blends with the palmer metacarophalangeal ligaments
- Volar surface is concave where the flexor tendons pass over it
- Behind it the tendons of the Interossei pass to their insertions.
