Purpose
- Attempt to reproduce symptoms in patients with suspected peripheral vertigo
Description
- Ask the patient to sit upright on the examining coach
- Turn the patient’s head 45 degrees to one side
- Lie back rapidly with her/his head extended over the end of the bed (keep eyes open)
- Watch eyes for nystagmus
- Repeat the test, turning the head to other side
