Background
- Isometric: Muscular contraction against resistance in which the length of the muscle remains the same
- Isotonic: Muscular contraction against resistance in which the length of the muscle changes
- Concentric: Muscular contraction with shortening of the muscle fibers.
- Eccentric: Muscular contraction with lengthening of the muscle fibers.
- Isokinetic: Similar to isotonic, however the speed of eccentric and concentric contractions is fixed
