Description


Origin
- Fibula (medial surface, middle 1/3)
- Interosseous Membrane of the Leg
- Originates in the Anterior compartment of the Leg
Insertion
- Great Toe (base of distal phalanx)
Actions
- Extension of MTP and Interphalangeal Joint of great toe
- Dorsiflexion of foot
Vascular Supply
Nerve
- Deep Fibular Nerve (L5-S1)
Clinical Significance
- Extensor Hallucis Longus Paralysis
- L5 Nerve Root Injury
- Acute Compartment Syndrome
- Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome
