Purpose
- Helps differentiate trochanteric impingement from other sources of hip pain[2]
Description
- The patient is in the lateral cubitus position, affected hip up
- Passively abduct the symptomatic hip in extension
- Bring from slight abduction into hyperabducted position
- Positive test
- Reproduction of the patient's symptoms
