HEER Test

Purpose

  • To evaluate the hip joint for causes of the patients pain

Description

  • The patient is supine
  • Both legs are hanging off the end of the examination table
  • The contralateral/ unaffected hip is flexed up to the chest by the patient
  • The ipsilateral hip is hyperextended and externally rotated
  • Positive test
    • Reproduction of the patients pain
