Purpose
- To evaluate the cause of the patients posterior ankle pain
- The test was first described by Laslett in 1988[1]
Description
- The patient is supine with the foot and ankle exposed
- The patient should be as relaxed as possible
- The examiner grabs the heel with one hand, stabilizes the distal tibia and fibula with the other
- The examiner then applies a cranial thrust
- Positive test
- Reproduction of the posterior ankle pain
