Purpose


Description

  • Patient is supine, arm abducted overhead
  • Elbow extended, forearm supinated
  • Axial force applied down humerus
  • Valgus force applied to elbow
  • Maintain axial & valgus forces while flexing & extending elbow
  • May cause radial head subluxation posterolaterally & skin dimpling
  • Positive test
    • Triceps tendon will reduce the lax or unstable radial head
    • Apprehension & reduction of radial head/clunk during flexion
