Purpose
- Evaluate for pathology of the lumbar spine
Description
- The patient is supine
- The examiner asks the patient to raise both legs 4-6 inches off the bed
- They should keep hips and knees in a netural position
- Hold this position for 30 seconds
- Positive test
- Patient experiences low back pain or radicular back pain from the spine
Pathology
- Lumbar Radiculopathy
- Herniated Disc
- Space Occupying Lesion
