Purpose

- Evaluate Rotator Cuff and Subacromial Bursa
Description
- Patient is seated or standing
- The patients arm is brought into flexion at 90°, internal rotation with thumb pointed towards the floor
- Examiner stabilizes patients scapula with one hand and applies resistance to the arm
- The patient is asked to flex the arm upward against the examiners resistance
- Positive test
- Pain
Pathology
- Classically, Subacromial Impingement Syndrome
- May also be positive for
Evidence
- Subacromial Impingement (need to clarify?)[2]
- Sensitivity: 0% - 93%
- Specificity: 31% - 100%
- LR+: 1.30 - 1.35
- LR-: 0.37 - 0.82
