Name

General

  • Muscle of the back of the head that helps with scalp movement and facial expression
  • Part of a larger muscle group called Occipitofrontalis along with Frontalis

Origin

  • Lateral 2/3 of superior nuchal line

Insertion

  • Epicranial Aponeruosis

Function

  • Retracts the scalp

Vascular Supply

  • Occipital artery
  • Branches of the posterior auricular artery

Innervation
