- Os acetabuli secundarium
General
- Small ossicles adjacent to the acetabular roof
- May represent unfused secondary ossification center of the acetabulum or pathologic sequelae
Gross Anatomy
- Located at the anterior/superior margin
- Rounded, well corticated with a concave lateral/ convex medial border
- Can be bilateral, partially fused to the acetabulum
- Commonly seen in children, typically fuse and are uncommonly seen in adults
Clinical Significance
Related Pathology
- Femoroacetabular Impingement
- Hip dysplasia
- Osteochondrosis dissecans
- Post-traumatic or degenerative bone fragments
Differential Diagnosis
- Acetabular labral calcification
