Purpose
- Evaluate the Thoracic Inlet for obstruction
Description
- Examiner instructs the patient to raise both arms fully overhead
- Position is maintained for up to 60 seconds
- Examiner observes the face, neck, and upper chest during arm elevation
- Positive test
- development of facial flushing, cyanosis, venous congestion, neck vein distention, dyspnea, or dizziness
