Indications


Description

  • Splint that maintains the foot/toes in extension
  • Goal: stretch the fascia to prevent morning stiffness and pain[1]
  • Orthopedic brace worn during sleep to treat plantar fasciitis
  • Maintains the ankle in a dorsiflexed position
  • Keeps the plantar fascia in a stretched state overnight
  • Reduces morning heel pain and stiffness
  • Helps prevent contracture of the plantar fascia and Achilles tendon
  • Available in posterior shell or low-profile dorsal designs
  • Adjustable straps allow customized stretch tension
  • Typically used as part of a conservative treatment plan

  • Multiple studies show benefit, but patients do not tolerate well and compliance can be problematic[2][3][4]
