Purpose
- To evaluate the Acetabular Labrum as a cause of hip pain
Description
- The patient is in a supine position
- Perform the FADIR maneuver (flexion, adduction, internal rotation)
- Then ABER (abduction, external rotation) the hip while extending
- This should be a fluid arc of motion
- Positive test
- Hip pain
- An audible click
Alternative Description
- Apply a posteriorly directed force on the knee
