Posteromedial Corner

Name

  • Posteromedial Corner (PMC)

General

  • Comprised of structures of the posterior border of the superficial MCL and the medial border of the PCL
  • Has historically been ignored for the oft-injured posterolateral corner with subsequent dearth of literature

Anatomic Components

Function

  • Medial knee stability

Clinical Significance

  • When injured, do not tend to heal without surgery
  • Can lead to instability of the knee, chronic pain
