Demonstration of the chair test[1]
The press test from the (a) starting position and (b) ending position
  • Press Test

Purpose

  • Evaluate integrity of TFCC
  • First described by Lester in 1995[2]

Description

  • Patient is seated in an arm chair
  • They are asked to grip both sides of the chair
  • Then they push their body weight up, lifting themselves off the chair
    • Wrists and elbows should be in extension
  • Positive test
    • Reproduction of pain
