Purpose
- To evaluate the cause of a patients forearm and wrist pain
Description
- The patient is seated or standing
- Examiner grasps wrist with one hand
- Grasp the elbow with other hand
- Patient flexes elbow & supinates forearm against resistance
- Compresses the median nerve under the lacertus fibrosus (distal bicipital aponeurosis)
- Positive test
- Pain just distal to elbow
- Worsening numbness, paresthesias in the median nerve distribution
