Purpose

  • To evaluate the cause of a patients groin pain

Description

  • The patient is in the supine position
  • Examiner’s hand on patient’s chest
  • Patient attempts sit up against resistance
  • Positive test
    • Pain in anterior groin or rectus abdominus muscle insertion onto pubic crest
