Introduction

  • Radiographic study used to evaluate anatomic leg length, calculate leg-length discrepancies
  • Utilizes a long ruler placed on the film
  • Three radiographs including bilateral hips, knees and ankles.

Terminology

  • Teleoroentgenogram: performed as a single-exposure weight-bearing study
  • Scanogram: low-radiation technique similar to an orthoroentgenogram utilizing three exposures
  • Orthoroentgenogram: three radiographs of the hip, knee and ankles
