Purpose
- Identify a classic ocular manifestation of Graves disease
Description
- Patient is seated comfortably
- Patient looks straight ahead or engages in normal conversation
- Examiner observes the spontaneous blink rate
- Positive test:
- Infrequent spontaneous blinking.
- Incomplete blinking.
- Characteristic staring or fixed gaze.
