Graves ophtalmopathy with obvious Stellwag, Moebius, Darlimple and Enroth signs[1]

Purpose

  • Identify a classic ocular manifestation of Graves disease

Description

  • Patient is seated comfortably
  • Patient looks straight ahead or engages in normal conversation
  • Examiner observes the spontaneous blink rate
  • Positive test:
    • Infrequent spontaneous blinking.
    • Incomplete blinking.
    • Characteristic staring or fixed gaze.

  • Graves Disease
  • Hyperthyroidism
