Indications

Description

What It Is

  • A semi-rigid ankle brace designed to support and stabilize the ankle after injuries
  • Typically made with two contoured plastic shells connected by an adjustable strap system
  • Contains air-filled cells (“Air-Stirrup” design) for cushioning and controlled compression
  • Commonly used after Grade I–II ankle sprains and during the transition from acute injury to functional rehabilitation

How It Works

  • The rigid side shells limit excessive inversion and eversion, helping prevent re-injury
  • Air bladders provide gentle compression to reduce swelling and improve comfort
  • Allows functional movement in plantarflexion and dorsiflexion, promoting early mobility and faster recovery
  • Can be worn inside most athletic shoes, allowing protected weight-bearing
  • Helps maintain proper alignment of the ankle joint during walking and activity
