Description
- Strap worn just distal to the elbow over the proximal forearm.
- Applies counterforce pressure to forearm tendons.
- Helps reduce strain at the tendon origin on the epicondyle.
- Commonly made with adjustable Velcro straps and a pressure pad.
Evidence
- Among 52 subjects with lateral epicondylitis, strap brace resulted in pain relief[1]
- Brace was non-superior to elbow compression sleeve
- Among 42 patients receiving either wrist extension splint or counterforce forearm brace, the splint provided greater pain relief[2]
