Purpose
- Test assesses the influence of the Flexor Hallucis Longus (FHL) on the first Metatarsal Phalangeal Joint (MTP) motion
Description
- Assess first MTP motion in maximal plantarflexion and moderate dorsiflexion of the ankle
- First MTP stabilized to avoid compensatory first metatarsal head plantar flexion
- Positive test
- Discomfort
- Reduced first MTP joint extension by 20° with ankle dorsiflexion
