Name

  • Palmar ulna bursa
  • Ulnar bursa of the palm
  • Ulnar bursa hand

General

Gross Anatomy

  • Originates at the level of pronator quadratus and continues distally to the mid palm
  • Extends proximally up to 5 cm proximal to the flexor retinaculum
  • It terminates at approximately 1-3 cm proximal to the flexor tendon sheaths of digits 2-4
  • It may communicate with the smaller palmar radial bursa
  • Continuous with the digital synovial sheath of the pinky

Clinical Significance

  • Palmar ulna bursitis
