Curriculum

  • The fellows will have broad exposure to every aspect of sports medicine, including:
    • Clinics with Primary Care Sports Medicine faculty
    • Clinics with Orthopaedic Sports Medicine faculty
    • Rotations with:
      • Hand Clinic
      • Foot/Ankle Clinic
      • Fracture Clinic
      • Musculoskeletal Radiology
      • Spine/Physiatry Clinic
      • Advance Diagnostic and Procedural Ultrasound Clinic
    • Primary Care 1/2 day in your specialty
    • 1/2 day academic time
  • The fellows will participate in weekly multi-disciplinary conferences with orthopaedic sports medicine, radiology, physical therapy, and athletic training. In addition, there are journal clubs at faculty homes every month to review both current and classic literature in sports medicine.
  • The University of Iowa also has a state-of-the-art musculoskeletal ultrasound training. This includes weekly didactic and hands on sessions as well as clinical experience with PRP TENEX and stem cell therapies.
