- Accessory Ossicles of the Elbow
General
- Rare variants of the bony elbow
- Some are failure of ossification centers to fuse with the rest of the humerus or ulna
- Some are sesamoid bones
- Overall prevalence is 0.77% according to Kunc et al[2]
Ossicles
- Accessory bone of the elbow which presents in the anterior coronoid fossa of the humerus
- Accessory ossicle of the elbow located in the olecranon fossa of the humerus
Os Subepicondylare Laterale
- Also called: paratrochlear bone
- Sits just below the lateral epicondyle of the humerus
- Found just distal to the medial epicondyle of the humerus
- Also called: patella cubiti
- Presents as a sesamoid bone within the distal triceps brachii tendon
Os Sesamoideum Brachiale

Supratrochlear Foramen
- Small hole located in the trochlea of the humerus
