Adductor Longus

Origin

  • Superior pubic ramus

Insertion

  • Middle third lip of the linea aspera

Actions

  • Adduction of the thigh
  • Stabilization of the pelvis
  • Balances the pelvis on a lower limb during the gait cycle

Artery

  • Deep femoral artery (primary)
  • Medial femoral circumflex artery (superior portion)
  • Femoral artery, the popliteal artery and the genicular arteries (inferior)

Nerve

  • Anterior division of the obturator nerve (L2-L4)

Clinical Significance

  • Pathology
    • Adductor longus rupture [1]
