Name

  • Anconeus
  • Anconeus Muscle

Origin

Insertion

  • Lateral surface of olecranon

Anconeus Epitrochlearis Muscle

  • Anatomic Variant
  • Originates at the medial epicondyle (instead of lateral epicondyle)
  • Crosses over ulnar groove, can compress nerve
  • Seen in weightlifters with forearm hypertrophy

Actions

  • Extension of forearm (at the elbow)
  • Stabilizes elbow

Vascular Supply

  • Posterior Interosseous Recurrent Artery

Nerve

  • Radial Nerve (C7-C8)
