Buchbergers Test

Demonstration of the Buchberger's test[1]
  • Buchberger's Test
  • Acromioclavicular joint differential test

Purpose

  • To distinguish the etiology of the patients shoulder pain

Description

  • The patient is seated, examiner behind the patient
  • Apply downward pressure over the lateral one third of the clavicle
  • Simultaneously passively inducing slight adduction, external rotation, and forced forward flexion to the humerus
  • Positive test
    • Pain localizes to the AC joint
