Common Extensor Tendon

General

  • Common insertion for multiple wrist extensors
  • ECRB is most commonly implicated in lateral epicondylitis

Anatomic Description

  • Flat tendinous structure originating from the anterolateral surface of the lateral epicondyle
  • Found just distal to the origin of the extensor carpi radialis longus (ECRL)

    • Radial/ulnar Abduction
    • Dynamic stabilizer of the elbow joint
