Purpose

• Evaluate the sacroiliac joint as a cause of back pain

Description

• The patient is prone, examiner at patients side
• Examiner places palm on sacrum
• Apply downward (anterior) & cranial (superior) force near coccyx
• Other hand provides counter traction force inferiorly & laterally on affected leg
• Positive test
  • Gluteal/SIJ pain due to caudal traction forces
