- Peroneus Brevis
- Fibularis Brevis
General
- Small muscle located in the lateral compartment of the leg
- Primarily assists in plantarflexion and eversion of the foot
Origin
- Fibula (distal 2/3 along the lateral aspect)
- Anterior Intermuscular Septa
Insertion
- Tuberosity of the 5th Metatarsal
Actions
- Plantar Flexion
- Eversion of Foot
Vascular Supply
- Anterior Tibial Artery
Innervation
Clinical Significance
- Peroneal Tenosynovitis (Tendonitis)
- Common Peroneal Nerve Palsy
- Peroneal Tendon Subluxation (& Dislocation)
