Purpose


Description

  • The patient is sitting or standing.
  • Examiner continuously palpates the radial pulse on the side being tested.
  • Examiner abducts the arm to 45°, extends shoulder to 45°,
  • Externally rotates the upper extremity while applying a downward distraction to the arm.
  • Patient is then asked to fully turn head away from the side being tested, extend the cervical spin
  • Positive Test
    • Reproduction of the patients symptoms

    • Sensitivity: 74-76%
    • Specificty: 52-62%
    • Diagnostic Accuracy: 67-72%
