- Ligamentum interclaviculare
General
- Major stabilizing ligament of the sternoclavicular joint
- Supports the shoulder girdle and shoulder joint as well
Gross Anatomy
- Unites the medial end of both clavicles with the superior surface of the sternum
- Continuous with the deep cervical fascia
- Sternocleidomastoid can be found in front of the ligament, Sternothyreoideus behind
Function
- Interclavicular ligament acts to stabilize the sternoclavicular joint
