  • Internal Oblique
  • Internal Abdominal Oblique

Origin

  • Anterior 2/3 of Iliac Crest
  • Iliopectineal arch
  • Thoracolumbar fascia

Insertion

Actions

  • Bilateral contraction - Trunk flexion, expiration
  • Unilateral contraction - Trunk lateral flexion (ipsilateral) and rotation (ipsilateral)

Vascular Supply

  • Posterior Intercostal Arteries
  • Subcostal Arteries
  • Superior and Inferior Epigastric Arteries
  • Superficial and Deep Circumflex Arteries
  • Posterior Lumbar Arteries
