Purpose

  • Evaluate Cubital Tunnel and Ulnar Nerve as a cause of elbow pain
  • Named after French physician M. Jeanne, who first described the clinical observation in 1915[1]

Description

  • Patient is asked to pinch together thumb and index finger forming an "OK" sign
  • Positive test:
    • Weak and unstable pinch with hyperextension of the thumb metacarpophalangeal, thumb adduction
    • Compensating for loss of interphalangeal extension and thumb adduction by Adductor Pollicis
