Purpose

Demonstration of Kleinman's Shear Test[1]
- Evaluate the Lunate and Triquetrum, specifically the Lunotriquetral Joint
Description
- The patient is seated
- The examiner stabilizes the radiolunate joint with the forearm in neutral rotation and with the contralateral hand load the triquetrum in the AP plane
- Stabilize the lunate between thumb and index finger of one hand and the triquetrum between the thumb and index finger of the other
- This produces shear across the LT joint
- Positive test produces pain or a clunk
