Purpose
- Evaluate the rotator cuff as a cause of shoulder pain
Description
- Ask the patient to abduct their shoulder 90° in the coronal plane
- Elbows flexed to 90°
- Shoulders internally rotated so that the fingers point inferiorly
- Apply an inferiorly directed force on the distal arm/elbow
- Positive Test
- Pain or weakness on resistance
- Inability to perform the test
