Ulnar Collateral Ligament of the Thumb

  • Runs along the ulnar side of the metacarpophalangeal Joint of the thumb
  • Composed of the collateral ligament, accessory collateral ligament
  • Prevents abduction or valgus/ radial deviation of the thumb at the 1st MTPJ

Radial Collateral Ligament of the Thumb

  • Runs along the radial side of the metacarpophalangeal Joint of the thumb
  • Prevents adduction or varus/ulnar deviation of the thumb at the 1st MTPJ

Dorsal Deltoid Shaped Ligaments

  • Dorsal radial Ligament
  • Dorsal central Ligament
  • Posterior oblique Ligament

Volar Ligaments

  • Anterior oblique Ligament
  • Ulnar Collateral Ligament

Ulnar Ligament

  • Intermetacarpal Ligament
  • Dorsal Trapeziometacarpal Ligament
