- Palmaris Brevis
- Palmaris Brevis Muscle
General
- Small quadrangular muscle found in the hypothenar region of the hand
- Lies over the fascia of the hypothenar eminence, but does not belong to it
Origin
- flexor retinaculum and the palmar aponeurosis
Insertion
- Skin of the medial border of the hand
Actions
- Improves palmer grip
- Pulls the skin over the hypothenar eminence, deepens the palm
Vascular Supply
- Superficial palmar arch
Innervation
Clinical Significance
- Only motor innervation of the superficial branch of the ulnar nerve[2]
