- Perforating Cutaneous Nerve
- Perforating branch of the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve
- Inferior cluneal nerves
General
- Cutaneous nerve that arises from S2 and S3 of the sacral plexus
- Provides sensory innervation to the lower medial part of the buttock
Gross Anatomy
- Arises from S2/S3 nerve roots of the sacral plexus
- Pierces the sacrotuberous ligament
- Then passes over the lower border of the gluteus maximus muscle
- Continues on to supply the skin over the inferior aspect of the buttocks
Variant Anatomy
- May be congenitally absent in the proper anatomy
- Can present as a branch of the posterior cutaneous nerve of the thigh, pudendal nerve
Sensory Innervation
- Skin over the inferior aspect of the buttocks

- None
